An elephant?

Trying to describe Eureka Springs, Arkansas to someone who has never spent a few days or more in this amazing little village of less than 2500 residents, is like the old story about the group of blind men (or men in the dark) who touch an elephant to learn what it is like.

Each one feels a different part, but only one part, such as the side or the tusk. They then compare notes and learn that they are in complete disagreement.

In one version, the story concludes with….

A king explains to them:

All of you are right. The reason every one of you is telling it differently is because each one of you touched the different part of the elephant. So, actually the elephant has all the features you mentioned.

And so it is with Eureka Springs….it is possible to uncover all the ‘features’ your imagination can conjure.

On this website you will find the aspects of Eureka that speak to the ‘Cultural Creatives’ and ‘Conscious Minded’ folks, those individuals who desire to be immersed in ‘experience’ more than distracted by entertainment or tourist attractions. If you don’t find what you are looking for here then just mosey on over to www.eurekasprings.org/events/list/ and see what city sponsored events you can find along with lodging, restaurants, attractions and shopping.
